In past blog posts, we’ve talked about how easy it is to market contract staffing services and provided a few of the most common marketing methods recruiters use. Since this is one of the most common questions we receive from recruiters, we thought it would be helpful to provide a few of the more unique tips that have worked for successful recruiters doing contracting:
- Join local business groups and organizations – All businesses are potential clients, and anyone you network with could be a potential candidate.
- Buy stock in your clients – If you buy ten shares in a larger company, you’ll be invited to meetings, which are also attended by project managers and other high level managers.
- Send unique marketing “toys” – Sending promotional items, especially in the middle of the year when no one else is doing it, is a great way to stand out. For example, one recruiter we know sends potential clients $2 bills to show that her service is unique.
- Send clients monthly newsletters – The first page could contain a relevant topic with a list of hot candidates on the second page.
