Once again, Healthcare placements continue to thrive, both in direct-hire and contract staffing. However, contracting is also becoming prevalent in areas of the economy where direct-hire job orders are drying up, such as Finance & Accounting and Insurance & Real Estate. Healthcare was the number-one industry for placements made through FoxHire in 2008. It comprised 37% of all contract placements. Right behind Healthcare were Information Technology at 17% and Engineering & Manufacturing at 12%.
Finance & Accounting comprised 8% of contract placements, while Legal, HR, & Recruiting and Insurance & Real Estate both accounted for 5%.
