FoxHire has mentioned in previous blog posts how temporary/contract and manufacturing hiring seem to be leading the way in this very slow economic recovery. Well, BMW’s plan to hire more than 500 contingent workers, as reported in The Sun News (Myrtle Beach, SC), is a good example of both trends.

BMW has recently enjoyed a 12 percent increase in U.S. sales and hopes that adding the contingent staff to their Greer, SC, plant will help them bring their new “sports activity vehicle” to production. FoxHire has also seen similar trends in contract hiring at other automobile manufacturers, so hopefully this is a good sign for our struggling economy!
